Construction Lead Carpenter

Seeking a reliable, detailed oriented Lead Carpenter to join our award winning team at Solid Renovations.  In this role you will lead fabrication and installation of custom woodwork on high-end residential construction projects. 

Candidates for this role must have 8+ years experience in new build construction, renovation and restoration projects. Duties

  • Interpreting blueprints of the interior of homes

  • Exterior wood rot repair

  • Historic window & door repair / replacement

  • Measuring dimensions of spaces

  • Fabrication & Installation of custom-made bookshelves, cabinetry, closet systems, etc.

  • Applying protective layers to surfaces and safeguarding client’s personal property

  • Installing crown molding

  • Applying extra detail to baseboards

  • Inspecting the home for scratches or dents

  • Ensuring doors and windows work properly

  • Maintaining a clean and orderly work space

Qualifications

  • Minimum 8 years  experience in restoration and new construction.

  • Strong work ethic

  • Must be a self-starter and able to multitask in a fast paced environment.

  • Be detail-oriented:  As lead carpenter, you’ll be fabricating, installing, making measurements, attending to repairs and finessing down to a minute level.

  • Punch List experience. 

  • Have math skills:  Lead carpenters need a good understanding of measuring, volume and how to compute dimensions as well as basic calculations, including material take-offs and material lists 

  • Have good communication skills:  You’ll need to be able to discuss customer needs and communicate or delegate tasks with colleagues.

  • Be physically strong: Able to lift 50+ pounds in order to transport building materials, work on your feet for long periods of time and lift heavy tools and materials up flights of stairs.

  • Basic hand tools required (major power tools provided by Solid Renovations)

  • Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation

Compensation

  • $29 / hourly wage

  • Standard 40 hour week, Monday-Friday 8am-5pm

  • Holiday Pay:  After 90 days, all employees are eligible for the following paid holidays:

    • New Years Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve & Christmas Day, and employee’s Birthday

  • Paid Time Off:  PTO is accrued after 90 days of employment using a scale based on the amount of hours worked
